A note from the hearth

Shared Hearth is a small publishing imprint for quiet, honest work. Memoir and emotional nonfiction, poetry, and books for children. The kind of reading that asks you to slow down.

The first books are still being written. This page is the doorway, somewhere to sit for a moment, before the work arrives. When it does, you will know.

A quiet morning at the writing desk: a steaming mug of tea, an open notebook, and a wooden pencil in soft window light.
A quiet morning at the desk.

About

A small press, made by hand.

I started Shared Hearth because I wanted a place where certain kinds of books could live — books that don't shout, that take their time, that trust the reader to feel their way through.

The name came first. A hearth is warm, grounded, ordinary. It is where people gather without performing, where the truth gets told quietly. That is the kind of publishing I want to do.

Everything here is in development. I am working slowly and on purpose.

The three territories

  • I.

    Memoir & emotional nonfiction

Stories carried for a long time, finally set down. The kind of writing that names a feeling you thought was only yours.

  • II.

    Poetry

Small rooms made of language. Lines to keep on a windowsill, to return to in the morning, to read aloud in the dark.

  • III.

    Children's literature

Books that take a child's inner world seriously. Tender, unhurried, and quietly brave.

Stay connected

When something is ready,
I'll let you know.

No newsletter cadence. No marketing. A single, quiet note when the first book is in the world.
